Nominated By The U.S. Consulate For A Sponsored Leadership in Tech Program (IVLP)

With humility, I share my nomination for a multi-regional Leadership Program sponsored by the U.S. Government, titled: “Advancing an Open, Reliable, and Secure Digital Economy.”

The International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), a flagship exchange initiative of the U.S. Department of State, facilitates short-term exchanges among leaders worldwide. Participants, nominated by U.S. embassies, build lasting connections with American counterparts.

As the Executive Director of iYouth Resource Centre, I lead initiatives empowering youths with trending technology skills. Additionally, I’ve volunteered for over four years with the U.S. Government Exchange Alumni Association (USGEAA) in Osun State, serving as Project Director. Notably, I led teams in grant writing and executed projects like “Code Osun” in partnership with the U.S. Consulate in Lagos. People define integrity by how one behaves when unobserved, yet I firmly believe in the presence of an unseen observer and i’m confident to say that, your steadfast commitment to noble pursuits and social impacts will inevitably result to your recognition, appreciation and celebration someday.

My nomination by the U.S. Embassy reaffirms my conviction, that dedication and honesty bring rewards and i’m motivated to persist in empowering youths through technology.

The IVLP project has assembled 19 young leaders. myself included, from various regions and countries, to explore the U.S. model of ICT, focusing on internet policy, governance, and cybersecurity. Within my team, there are individuals holding positions such as, directors and deputy directors of ministries, founders and co-founders, heads of Innovation and entrepreneurship centres, senior policy directors, criminal investigators, senior software engineers, among others.

I’m grateful to the U.S. Mission in Nigeria for deeming me worthy and nominating me for this incredible opportunity and the U.S. Department of State for organizing such a fantastic program.

I eagerly anticipate returning to Nigeria soon to apply the knowledge gained, contributing to our nation’s development and to enrich the Nigerian tech ecosystem. I am enthusiastic about participating in the esteemed initiatives led by the honourable Minister of Communications, innovation and Digital Economy.
